This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn a single-configuration heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit geostationary transfer orbit cislunar and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive plans to develop manufacture qualify and integrate Payload Accommodations sub-systems.
  • Coordinate with design engineers procurement procurement operations test engineers production and test engineering to ensure all aspects of the build and test are driving to plan.
  • Manage key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: budget engineering schedules equipment schedules procurement schedules build schedules test schedules program management status reports and resource plans.
  • Develop recovery strategies when non-conformances or other escapes are identified.
  • Identify risk document communicate develop mitigation plans and drive to an acceptable level.
  • Communicate status critical paths challenges and recommended solutions.

Budget:

  • Track budgets and manage the committed/ uncommitted forecast variance and other financial metrics working closely with the GS1 Finance team.
  • Develop change assessments and find alternatives to mitigate budget increases.
  • Deliver actionable insights on financial performance and opportunities to reduce costs without impacting performance.

Schedule:

  • Develop and manage detailed schedules & trackers for all build and test activities. Coordinate progress with higher level IMS.
  • Perform schedule baseline change control collect and track performance conduct critical path and variance analyses.
  • Provide regular updates to all team members on progress and risks to meet overall schedule.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and supplier management to ensure on-time delivery of hardware (flight/ground) to Integration.
  • Ensure resource and facility conflicts are resolved.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering Business Project Management Operations or equivalent job experience.
  • 10 years of project management experience.
  • Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results.
  • Experience managing work within large organizations or complex projects that are geographically dispersed.
  • Working knowledge of design process manufacturing and configuration management principles and practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skills for hands-on problem solving with a passion for spacecraft systems.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced multifaceted environment.
  • Ability to perform and work in an unstructured environment and navigate ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Advanced degree such as M.S. in aerospace engineering mechanical engineering or systems engineering or MBA.
  • Experience with launch vehicle development production and operations
  • Strong analytic skills and a high degree of proficiency in analytics. Ability to handle manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Experience working with business analytics tools and building tools to for Data Analytics (Excel SQL)
  • Experience with resources-loaded schedules
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience. Experience with critical path scheduling IMP/IMS risk management requirements management and Cost Account Management such as EVM.
  • Experience with verification integration and test of orbital launch vehicles or human rated spacecraft.
  • Strong business management skill and experience managing large geographically dispersed programs with large subcontractors.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Experience with Primavera (P6) CREO Windchill Confluence Jira Tableau SQL MySQL.


Compensation Range for:

CO applicants is $111121.00-$155569.05;WA applicants is $120850.00-$169189.65

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding) Road Test Hours of Service Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only) vehicle inspection requirements CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
