Qualifications and requirements:The Surgical Support Aide is responsible for transporting all surgical patients to and from surgery. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse aids patients and nursing staff assisting with the turnover of the rooms between cases and the transferring/positioning of addition the Surgical Services Support Aide is responsible for maintaining an optimum inventory of supplies utilized in the OR Suite. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer service consisting of an outgoing positive attitude warm friendly joyful demeanor and the utmost care and reverence for our guests patients families customers and colleagues.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required. Basic Computer Skills preferred.
Population Specifics:Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population of patients served in Surgical Services.
Experience: Experience in a Healthcare Facility or a current Washington CNA License preferred.
Required Certification: Must have/obtain a current BLS.
Bilingual and/or English and Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to work with a culturally diverse population
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
- @Rat risk for exposure to blood-borne pathogens
Assure that the patients direct care needs are met. @R
Assists with patient care as directed following the policy and procedure of the department.
Demonstrates appropriate communication skills in the performance of duties. @R
Coordinates and maintains supplies appropriate to the needs of the department.
Demonstrates professional accountability. @R
Act independently without specific instruction utilizing time and resources appropriately under the direction of the Charge Nurse or Director as needed.
Accept other assignments as needed for department unit safety and efficiency.
