We currently have an opportunity for Maintenance Handyperson/Groundskeeper tojoin ourHealth and Educationteam and play a key role in delivering the Facilities Management (FM) service at the NZ Schools PPP3 Project.Reporting to Operations Manageryoull help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

The NZ Schools PPP is a partnership between Amber Infrastructure the Ministry of Education and Downer Company focusing on enhancing educational environments across several schools in New Zealand. The project aims to deliver quality educational spaces efficiently ensuring value for money and effective service delivery with Downer handling various support services such as cleaning security and utilities management.
What Youll Do (key responsibilities)
This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:
Act as the main point of contact and coordinator for all services at the facility including managing subcontractor activities verifying credentials and overseeing work completion.
Maintain proactive communication with the School Operator to ensure timely fulfillment of ad hoc requests and smooth operational support.
Handle general store duties such as receiving checking storing and distributing school supplies along with porterage and dispatch of goods.
Perform caretaker tasks emergency responses FF&E movement replenishment of consumables incident logging and general cleaning and maintenance.
Plan and manage visitor access to support seamless community engagement and ensure school facilities are available and well-utilized.

Essential Requirements: Must hold a current drivers license and be police vetted.
Desirable Qualifications: Includes cleaning groundskeeping supervisory and building/trade-related certifications.
Trade & Maintenance Experience: Background in basic repairs carpentry or similar trades; capable of delivering planned maintenance works.
Cleaning & Resource Management: Skilled in cleaning practices and efficient use of cost-effective materials.
Oversight & Compliance: Experienced in monitoring subcontractor performance and knowledgeable in New Zealand Standards and OH&S regulations
