Job Summary
This position will assist in the accounting close and reporting processes including the completion of analysis.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Prepares various journals account reconciliations and monthly reports
- Performs key accounting controls
- Assists in monthly Accounting close process by analyzing and adjusting accounting data
- Coordinates consolidates reports and prepares analysis of financial transactions to aid management in decision-making
- Calculates performance measures to assist management with business decisions
- Settles invoices and ensure accurate timely payments
- Effectively interfaces with other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent work practices and reporting deadlines are achieved
- Creates ad-hoc and variance reporting including data mining and analytics
- Participates in special projects as requested
Education Experience & Skill Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance with 3-6 years related work experience
- Knowledge of the functions of accounting organizations such as Accounts Payable General Accounting Payroll Fixed Asset Accounting
- Must be able to utilize knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles company policies and other information as they apply to the energy industry to provide relevant and reliable reports and information for management inside and outside the accounting organization
- Intermediate Excel skills and solid functional knowledge of Word and Power Point applications
