In this position you will direct and supervise employees and programs in a team environment. The employees supervised by this position provide regulatory services to adult foster homes within Washington and Columbia Counties. Summary of Duties
As a AFH Licensing Supervisor you will:
Interact with APD program staff on a regular basis to ensure that the program is operated in a consistent manner with the expectations.
Manage and direct the service delivery of the Adult Foster Home licensing functions across Washington and Columbia Counties.
Create monitor and evaluate systems for assuring the delivery of the program according to Rules Statutes and Agency best practices.
Provide leadership direction coaching and development to the employees providing direct service delivery of the Regulatory programs. This includes ensuring resources are available to employees to carry out timely quality services.
Facilitate team planning organizing monitoring and adjusting workload levels and duties as required to accomplish the workload of the team as well as to motivate the team to set and reach goals.
Provide authorize or arrange for technical coaching or training to employees as needed.
Monitor and assure that employees perform their duties as expected according to the rules set out by the programs collective bargaining agreement and agency best practices including completion of quarterly reporting of program and unit functions.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
Four years of lead work supervision or progressively related experience to the class concept.
OR
One year of related experience and a bachelors degree in a related field.

Experience working with older adults and/or people with disabilities.
Experience reviewing needs of a team and their ability to manage their workloads and provide services.
Experience interpreting and applying/explaining rules and/or regulations to people with diverse education language and cultural backgrounds.
Experience providing direct and timely training and coaching to increase staff knowledge and application of rules.
Conflict resolution: Experience addressing and resolving disagreements or differences in a professional constructive manner that preserves relationships supports collaboration and achieves organizational goals.

Working Conditions
Your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. As the supervisor you will be required to work a flexible work schedule due to business needs. Hours of work may vary from day to day and could include evenings and weekends under certain circumstances. Work schedule specifics will be determined by the hiring supervisor.
You may rarely have to be in the community and have to climb indoor or outdoor stairs/situations.
Fast paced environment with constantly evolving policies and procedures.
May drive a variety of different types of vehicles to remote places in a variety of terrain and possibly inclement weather.
Repetitive motions prolonged sitting and daily computer and technology use.
Will come in contact with animals some which of may be dangerous.
May be exposed to communicable diseases such as the flu virus Covid-19 and MRSA.
You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
You may encounter stressful situations that require quick decision-making to ensure safety of yourself and others.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
