About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Investigatorto join our Special Investigations Unit (SIU) this role you will be responsible for conducting and managing complex investigations related to suspicious insurance activities within the Life & Retirementlines of business.

You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders providing expert analysis evidence gathering and fraud risk mitigation strategies. If you have a strong background in investigations a understanding of insurance and fraud-related regulations and a commitment to ethical practicesthis role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Principal Investigator the individual will be responsible for investigating suspicious insurance related activities involving insured beneficiaries brokers and agents.

  • Ability to manage all aspects of the investigation to include analyzing facts on issues in question conduct interviews and review statements of witnesses employers claimants and other relevant witnesses.

  • Obtaining and preserving physical and documentary evidence to support investigations.

  • Producing reports based on evidential findings providing necessary information to business unit/functional representatives on the progress of the case as appropriate.

  • Handling caseload while ensuring all tasks are completed properly.

  • Testifying and presenting evidence at administrative and criminal court proceedings as required.

  • Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with insureds lawyers corporate employees vendors law enforcement and relevant fraud bodies.

  • Identify create and complete fraud training for various lines of business as requested by your manager.

  • Completing targeted case reviews for appropriate product lines. This includes analysis documentation of results and recommended improvements to working practices and where appropriate detection and referral levels.

  • Accurately identify and record all cases worked in the case management system

  • Awareness of and adherence to area specific laws and regulatory requirements regarding techniques used for information gathering and reporting.

  • Provide intelligence/feedback to Business unit/Functional departments regarding trends and opportunities for future fraud mitigation.

  • Take an active role in anti-fraud associations to raise awareness of L&Rs counter-fraud efforts and to keep in tune with latest trends and changes in the industry.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of criminal and civil justice systems together with detailed knowledge of fraud legislation relevant to investigative jurisdiction.

  • Strong understanding of Life and Retirement line of business.

  • Ability to manage workflow to create and pursue leads in support a fraud case.

  • Proven investigative experience preferably in an insurance claims or SIU environment.

  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple investigations and work under tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Proficiency in PC tools and experience with investigative and database systems.

  • High ethical standards and sound judgment.

  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks for information gathering and reporting.

If the position is based in one of Corebridge Financials hub offices which are Houston TX Jersey City NJ. or Woodland Hills CA office the role is subject to our hybrid working policy which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely. However we are open to considering full remote candidates outside of these areas.
