About the role
Join a forward-thinking team driving the future of sustainable transport. As the Program/Project Manager Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a high-impact project deploying kerbside EV charging infrastructure across regional and rural NSW. This role is pivotal in supporting our corporate strategy and Pillar 3s strategic programs. Youll oversee all project phasesfrom planning and procurement to installation and operational launchwhile managing internal teams contractors and key stakeholders including local councils and regulatory bodies.
Youll be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards managing budgets and schedules and delivering safe efficient and effective project outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of EV infrastructure and make a tangible impact on regional communities.
This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energys operational footprint and is a 12 month fixed term contract.
About You
You are a strategic thinker and experienced project leader with a passion for innovation and sustainability. You thrive in complex multi-stakeholder environments and bring a strong commercial mindset to infrastructure delivery. Your ability to lead diverse teams manage risk and drive performance ensures successful outcomes in dynamic settings.
About your skills
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver on time and on budget
- Expertise in commercial contract management and risk mitigation
- Skilled in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong leadership negotiation and influencing capabilities
- Adaptability and a results-driven approach to achieving business goals
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Project Management or equivalent experience
- White Card Workcover Induction for Construction Work
- Current Drivers Licence
- Asset and Maintenance Management qualifications
- Change Management Certification (e.g. Prosci)
- Project Management Certification (e.g. PRINCE2 PMP)
Desired experience
- Proven experience in EV charging infrastructure projects including site selection and grid integration
- Background in transmission distribution design or construction
- Experience working with government agencies utilities and private-sector partners
- Strong contract administration and performance management expertise
- Deep understanding of forecasting commercial risk and project methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to assess network delivery risks and propose cost-effective solutions
