The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor the Dean and Head of School of Design will lead a multidisciplinary school with strengths in Architecture Landscape Architecture Fine Arts and History of Art. The School is home to accredited professional programs in architecture and landscape architecture as well as distinctive offerings in creative practice and art history. You will be responsible for the Schools academic strategic and operational leadership guiding it to deliver excellent teaching research and community engagement.
You will work to grow the Schools profile and reach strengthen industry and professional relationships and support the continued success of its accreditation processes. The role also offers the opportunity to mentor staff build leadership capability and ensure that all disciplines in the School are valued and supported.
The Person
We are seeking an accomplished academic leader with a record of achievement in a relevant discipline. You will have demonstrated success in leading academic teams fostering a collaborative and collegial culture and maintaining strong links with the respective professions.
Your ability to mentor and develop staff build trust and engage effectively with industry government and community will be important to this role. You will be committed to excellence across both professional and creative disciplines bringing an inclusive and consultative approach that supports the Schools distinctive strengths and ambitions.
