About the Role
Were hiring our first Director of Employer Partnerships to lead business development with commercial payers employer groups and health ecosystem partnersstarting in California. This is a net-new high-impact role for someone who thrives on creating strategic relationships and opening new doors. The ideal candidate understands the complexity of network development payer contracting and authorization workflowsespecially in markets without legislative mandates for neurorehab coverage.
This is a hunter role best suited for someone whos energized by partnerships driven by results and eager to create access for patients who need our care. Over time this individual may step into a leadership role building and leading the Employer Partnerships function across both California and Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead go-to-market efforts for employer and payer partnerships in California with a focus on large self-funded employers and commercial health plans
- Develop and execute a pipeline strategy to increase CNSs commercial patient mix through broker TPA consultant and employer partnerships
- Build relationships with benefits decision-makers to facilitate CNS-authorized care and continued access for patients
- Serve as a strategic liaison between CNSs clinical teams and payer/employer partners to support in-network status and streamline authorizations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (emissions sales marketing operations and clinical) to support lead generation implementation and overall partnership success
- Maintain accurate documentation of outreach activity and pipeline progress in CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
- Represent CNS at key employer payer and healthcare ecosystem events to elevate brand awareness and expand referral networks
- Monitor trends in legislation payer dynamics and benefit design to inform partnership strategy and positioning
Qualifications
- 710 years of experience in payer or employer partnerships business development or commercial strategy within healthcare
- Proven track record of selling solutions or services to self-funded employers brokers TPAs and/or health plans
- Strong understanding of Californias healthcare market including payer ecosystems benefit decision-making and regulatory nuances
- Demonstrated success building partnerships from scratchideally within a provider post-acute or care delivery setting
- Skilled at navigating complex sales cycles negotiating access and managing stakeholder relationships
- Ability to operate independently while building the foundation for a scalable partnerships function
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the year to meet clients needs and timetables.
Preferred Experience
- Background in selling point solutions that address cost quality or access for self-funded employer populations
- Experience working in post-acute neurorehabilitation or complex care sectors
- Familiarity with value-based care models and centers of excellence contracting
- Proficiency with CRM tools like Salesforce to manage pipeline and reporting
- Interest in growing into a leadership role overseeing partnerships across California and Texas
