The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal Quebec the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Qubec - Sant (FRQS).
Position summary
Under the direct supervision of the Program Leader the Program Manager will facilitate all aspects of the research activities of the Cancer Research Program including scientific and administrative. The Program Manager will act as the day-to-day facilitator between the Program Leadership the Program members and their research teams and RI-MUHC administration.
General Duties
Work with Strategic Initiatives Advisor of Pre-Awards Office to identify funding opportunities and research projects that will support the goals and priorities of the Program and RI MUHC.
Facilitates all aspects for organizing large-group grant research (i.e. CIHR) or equipment (i.e. CFI) applications and oversees submissions to funding agencies for Program Lead initiatives.
Facilitates the development of collaborative research partnerships across various entities within the RI MUHC McGill University and elsewhere in Canada and abroad.
Liaises with Performance Office in monitoring collecting and validating data for regular reporting of research activities and preparation of reports for the RI MUHC including for internal (Scientific Advisory Board) and provincial (ie. FRQS) bodies.
Works closely with other Program Managers on common research initiatives.
Manages Program administrative staff and oversees key operational areas including research space coordination shared equipment needs internal communications and onboarding of research personnel. Collaborates with internal departments such as Technical Services Biomedical Engineering and Communications to ensure efficient support for Program activities.
Organizes and supports internal program initiatives such as team meetings research seminars research days and participates in RI-MUHC-wide committees to promote collaboration and engagement.
Collaborates with senior management on special projects and provides insight into internal processes operational challenges and potential solutions.
Develops and shares best practices templates and tools to support specific Program activities and improve overall operations.

Self-motivated and ability to work independently or with teams with minimum direction and/or supervision.
