Job Advert Summary

We are seeking a Logistics and Transport Management Trainee. This role will focus on developing the practical experience within a supply chain. Some of the tasks involve duties such as coordinating transportation optimizing routes and managing inventory.



Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  1. Transportation Coordination: Organizing and overseeing the movement of goods including selecting appropriate modes of transport scheduling deliveries and tracking shipments.
  2. Route Optimization: Utilizing software and data analysis to find the most efficient and cost-effective routes for transportation.
  3. Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels coordinating with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  4. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting and analysing data related to logistics operations preparing reports for management and identifying areas for improvement.
  5. Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers carriers and other stakeholders.
  6. Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the transportation process such as delays damage or discrepancies.
  7. Compliance: Ensuring all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.


Minimum Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:A degree or diploma in Logistics Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills:Ability to analyse data identify trends and make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills:Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to identify and resolve issues related to transportation and logistics.
  • Teamwork:Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others.
  • Computer Literacy:Proficiency in using logistics software data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to Detail:Accuracy and attention to detail are important for ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient operations.
  • Financial acumen: Must be able to grasp financial concepts.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards
  • Experience with specific logistics software or systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure and
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach.
