You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Visual Designer is a key member of the Verisure Design Group reporting to the Studio Manager and working under the direction of the UI Team Leader. The role will be based in our one of our R&D centres (Malm or Madrid) with some occasional European travel .
The position is fundamental in delivering world class visual design across the Verisure digital product portfolio. You will be instrumental in evolving the look and feel of our digital customer touch-points as technology behaviours and visual design trends evolve and change.
This role is primarily responsible for the creation development refinement and documentation of our visual design system and solutions that are in line with the design objectives and goals of Verisure. The position will work on both strategic and explorative workstreams as well as tactical tasks and projects.You will also be creating a new design system to be used in the future for the Design team. As a Visual Designer focusing on the Design System in our team you are:

Main responsibilities will include supporting the business primarily in design system aspects.Key tasks include but are not limited to:
Actively head up both tactical delivery and strategic exploration of new visual directions covering primarily our digital touchpoints.
Take lead on the revamp and evolution of our Verisure Digital Design System (VDDS) and the Design Language Strategy from the perspective of user interfaces.
Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for tokens (e.g. colour typography spacing) components (Atomic design) and usage guidelines optimised for handoff and implementation.
Collaborate closely with our design team members developers and product/project managers to bring designs to life balancing user needs business requirements and technical constraints.
Educate Support and Mentor designers and developers on how to best leverage the design system in their work.
Audit product UI and component libraries to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
Iteratively prototype and test digital designs using low and high-fidelity tools as .
Manage the design system backlog using tools like JIRAtrack progress prioritise tasks and coordinate across teams.
Be on top of the latest visual design trends and industry best practices and use this knowledge to evolve products and features when and where it is appropriate.
Stay current with best practices in design systems and front-end technologies.Advocate new tools methodologies and better practices to drive learning and development of visual design within the technology organisation.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience of defining working with and maintaining a Design Language System is a must
5 years of experience working as a designer within a Corporate Design Group or reputable Design Consultancy - designing for web app and mobile/wearables platforms (Android iOS Android Wear UI and WatchOS UI)
Deep proficiency in Figma (including variables component properties and tokens)
Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React and component libraries like Storybook.
Documented experience of working with design systems that have been released to the market with evidence of successful customer adoption
International experience is important but not essential.
Experience working with senior stakeholders clients functional leaders software developers and software engineers.
Extensive understanding of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG) and how to build them into components.
Proven track record of utilising research insights to inform design decisions and directions.
Fluent in English both written and spoken is essential.
