Consultant as Digital Content Assistant (Jakarta based)

Program Overview

Indonesia envisions that in 2045 the country will be able to transform its economy from a natural resource-dependent economy to a modern competitive manufacturing- and service-based economy with high value-added to secure prosperity and social justice for all Indonesians. This transformation will capitalize on the countrys maritime strengths by incorporating better ocean resource management to leverage the blue economy development for increasing environmental.

A sustainable blue economy is given a central part in this shift of paradigm and geopolitical role. Indonesia will be known globally as a champion for conservation restoration and sustainable management of its seas having been able to tackle the many environmental issues affecting its ocean and seas such as marine and coastal pollution climate change IUU overfishing and habitat destruction among others.

One of the keys to achieve the vision is by enhancing the governance of Indonesian seas and ocean recognizing the multifaceted issues and interests across space and time. This effort will need to be supported by objective and scientifically robust data and analysis which can inspire action coupled with the fulfilment of enabling factors as a catalyst for change and mobilization of WRI Indonesia we work on three main areas: (1) Seeking collective actions through convening multistakeholder platforms to leverage the impacts for sustainable coastal and fisheries management such as: the New Ocean Economy; (2) Enhancing sustainable coastal management including through providing policy-based research for advancing and scaling-up a nature-based solution approach for coastal management and fisheries; and (3) strengthen sustainable blue food management and governance.

Job Highlight

The Digital Content Assistant will assist in the production of digital content for the Ocean & Plastic Waste program including but not limited to carousel content for Instagram and LinkedIn short videos for social media as well as posters and promotional materials for campaigns and events. This position will actively participate in weekly brainstorming sessions with the Communication and Social Media Consultant to help develop a monthly content plan. The role also involves supporting visual documentation during field activities campaigns or events and assisting in the management of visual assets and the maintenance of the programs media database.

The Digital Content Assistant will be based in Jakarta with office-flex arrangements and possibility for travel requirements. In support of WRIs DEI commitment you are responsible for actively participating in these collaborative efforts by integrating equity into your work our workplace and the organizational culture.

What You Will Do

• Assist in creating digital content for the Ocean and Plastic Waste Program
• Design and develop short-form videos or other form of visual content for social media
• Design and layout poster infographics and promotional materials for campaign and events
• Participate in weekly brainstorming session for communications plan and implementation
• Assist in developing a monthly content calendar for delivery monitoring
• Conduct basic research to support content ideas (e.g sourcing relevant statistics environment issue-related facts)
• Provide on-ground support for photos and videos documentation during field activities campaigns and events
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the program visual assets library
• Assist in manage media database and documents archiving
• Work closely with program team and communications team/personnel to ensure alignment on content messaging
• Ensure content adheres to organizational guidelines and reflects the tone and values of the program

What You Will Need

Education: A final-year student or a recent graduate with a degree in Communications Visual Design Fine Arts or other related fields.

Skill and Experience:

• Strong familiarity with social media trends and the ability to develop engaging content tailored to target audiences.
• Ability to create visually appealing and communicative designs using tools such as Adobe Photoshop Illustrator or Canva.
• Basic video editing skills (using tools like Adobe Premiere CapCut or similar software)
• Adequate in both written and verbal communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• An interest in environmental issues e.g. plastic pollution environmental degradation and climate change.
• Experience in producing content for non-profit organizations environmental campaigns or community initiatives.
• Skills in photography and/or motion graphics.
• Familiarity with social media management platforms such as Hootsuite Meta Business Suite or Buffer.

Deliverables

1. Provide at least 3 pieces of digital content (carousel posts short videos posters or other promotional materials) produced and delivered each month in line with the approved content plan.
2. Provide active participation in weekly brainstorming sessions and contribution to the development of the monthly content plan.
3. Provide timely delivery of event-related visuals (posters banners or other promotional materials) at least 4 days prior to each scheduled event or campaign.
4. Provide regular updates and proper organization of the programs media database (images videos and design files) ensuring assets are stored and accessible on a monthly basis.
5. Provide all produced content complies with the organizations visual identity guidelines with at least one creative concept or innovative format proposed per quarter.

Duration

15 September 2025 31 December 2025 with possibility of extension subject to individual performance evaluation project needs and budget availability.

Terms of Payment

Daily-rate based consultant with a maximum of 18 (eighteen) working days per month.

Contract Arrangement

Individual consultancy contract (Part-time limited term)
