Job Title: Safety Administration Technician
Reports To: Director of Safety
Location: New Mexico Various

OVERVIEW
The Safety Administration Technician plays a vital role in supporting the safety and health compliance efforts of industrial mining operations. This position is responsible for assisting safety director safety coordinators training coordinator and site personnel with the organization completion and maintenance of documentation related to mine site safety programs.

JOB DUTIES

  • Maintain and organize safety records including inspections audits incident reports training logs and compliance documentation
  • Assist in preparing and submitting documentation required by regulatory agencies (e.g. MSHA OSHA)
  • Track certifications and training renewals for employees and contractors; notify stakeholders of upcoming expirations
  • Support safety meetings and toolbox talks by distributing materials and recording attendance
  • Help compile data and generate reports for safety metrics and incident trends
  • Respond to document requests from internal departments and external auditors
  • Audit safety paperwork for accuracy and completeness; identify and correct discrepancies
  • Support investigations by gathering relevant records and creating timelines for incident reviews
  • Contribute to the development and revision of safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree or vocational certification in administration or safety management is a plus
  • 13 years of experience in a safety administrative or industrial setting preferred
  • Familiarity with MSHA OSHA or other regulatory frameworks related to mine safety preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word); experience with document management systems (DMS)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-stakes environment with shifting priorities

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
9/80 schedule: Monday Thursday 9-hour workdays Fridays worked 8-hour workday with every other Friday off. Schedule subject to change.

  • Mostly in indoor temperature-controlled office environment
  • Typical noise levels include moderate noises (business office with computers printers etc.)
  • Sometimes exposed to louder than moderate noises (ex: vehicle noises machinery noises etc.)
  • Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing walking sitting (while driving) over 2/3 of work time squatting talking or hearing making visual inspections making precise hand and finger movements twisting stooping crouching kneeling reaching or grasping
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs less than 1/3 of the time
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity

A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.
