Position summary
One newly-opened position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Don Vinh in the Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health (IDIGH) axis of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC).
The general interests of the Dr. Vinh translational research lab is to study host-pathogen interactions particularly to fungi using state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary systematic approaches. We work at the interface of human patients immunology genetics and mycology using various approaches including cellular and molecular biology animal imaging proteomics and functional genomics.
Currently we are seeking a Research Associate or Assistant for an exciting project to decipher susceptibility to the yeast Candida albicans. This work involves animal imaging and histopathology as well as in vitro evaluation of immunologic processes.
General Duties
Actively participates in the execution of the ongoing CARD9 research project.
Reviews and evaluates research findings and determines results prepares reports and manuscripts.
Establishes research methods designs protocol and advances research.
Troubleshoots research issues and resolves problems in design.
- Published experience in mouse studies and flow cytometry is strongly preferred and is viewed as a major asset.
- The incumbent must be independent and highly motivated to manage the project with a track record of productivity and able to work with colleagues closely as a teammate.
