What you will be doing

Working in a team environment and reporting to the Manager of Student Services you will:

  • Provide a full range of administrative support services for the Student Services Office with an emphasis on providing superior customer service to students staff and the public.
  • Work closely with the other Administrative Assistant for Student Services to respond to walk-in requests phone calls and email inquiries related to programming/services at the College.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Registrar supporting with tasks such as: enrolling students in programs; processing dropped courses; inputting grades transfer credits and milestones; preparing materials for convocation; and printing transcripts.
  • As part of the Student Services team you will also support special events such as Get Started Open House convocation and other campus-based events.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Administrative Professional/Office Administration combined with a minimum of two years recent and related experience in a fast-paced office environment. Or you have the recognized equivalency of a high school diploma with significant (10) years of administrative experience.
  • Occupational experience that includes records management specifically in a post-secondary environment would be considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite E-mail and PeopleSoft
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work
  • Experience supporting/providing service to adult learners and prospective students would be considered an asset
