Job Description
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other peoples lives by delivering person-centred services working with a range of clients (across the age span) with various needs (from short-term involvement to complex long-term needs).This will involve but is not limited to:
- Providing behaviour support for children and adults with complex disability and psycho-social support needs; complex mental health issues; and trauma based presentations;
- Conducting arange ofassessments of a clients presenting issues and support needs and identifying appropriate supports interventions and service models;
- Designing developing and implementing intervention plans and strategies;
- Facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities;
- Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions training and resource development;
- Working with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes.
Our office is based in Success. The position will require regular travelaround the Perth metro area and an occasional regional travel. There is also an option to work from home for administration/report writing.
Skills And Experiences
CRITERIA:
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g.: Education; Habilitation; Social Work; etc.) relevant to the field of behaviour support;
- Experience providing direct behaviour support andregistration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner;
- Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities mental health issues and / or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
- Experience in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurodiverse populations;
- Experience in providing clinical and / or behaviour assessment intervention and support in the disability out-of-home care and / or other relevant sectors;
- Experience in the provision of practice or clinical supervision to other practitioners is desirable but not essential;
- Experience working with individuals who have had contact with the juvenile justice or criminal justice system is desirable but not essential.
Due to the nature of our business it is required that our staff:
- have a current Drivers Licence;
- have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening or the ability to attain these checks.
