Job Summary:
The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests employees and property at Gurneys Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa. This position requires vigilance professionalism and a guest-first attitude while monitoring the premises responding to incidents and supporting a secure and welcoming resort environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol resort property regularly including guest areas back-of-house parking lots and beaches
- Monitor security systems and access control points
- Respond quickly to emergency situations including medical fire theft or disturbances
- Document all incidents and prepare accurate security reports
- Escort guests or staff when needed to ensure safety
- Enforce property policies including noise alcohol and visitor protocols
- Assist in crowd control during events and busy periods
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary
- Support lost-and-found operations and guest inquiries related to safety
Qualifications:
- Prior security military or law enforcement experience preferred
- NYS Security Guard License required (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work nights weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications).
