Job Description Summary:

The Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The role includes performing advanced bronchoscopic and interventional pulmonary procedures managing pleural and complex pulmonary disease and providing high-quality medical care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient addition the Assistant Professor will play an active role in the education and training of Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellows as well as participate in departmental and divisional academic activities.

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Perform advanced interventional pulmonary and bronchoscopic diagnostic procedures including therapeutic bronchoscopy for benign and malignant diseases.

  • Manage pleural disease using state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.

  • Provide comprehensive care for pulmonary patients in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.

  • Collaborate with an established Interventional Pulmonary and Advanced Bronchoscopy research group to support clinical innovation and scholarly activity.

  • Contribute to the education and mentorship of Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellows residents and medical students.

  • Participate in departmental and divisional educational conferences teaching rounds and academic activities as assigned.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain expertise in interventional pulmonary medicine.

Required Qualifications:

Certification/Licensure: Board eligible or board certified in Interventional Pulmonology and Pulmonary Medicine

Work Experience:

  • Post fellowship training

  • Experience with therapeutic bronchoscopy for benign and malignant disease

  • Experience managing pleural disease.
