The Role
Based at the beautiful Graduate Cambridge by Hilton right on the River Cam in the heart of the historic city the Night Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the Night Manager and Night Supervisor to ensure night shifts run smoothly. As a Night Porter you will be the first point of contact for guests offering a warm welcome assisting with luggage guiding them to their rooms delivering in-room amenities and providing room service. You will also help with night audit tasks and other responsibilities to ensure every guest feels safe cared for and valued throughout their stay.

• Greeting guests and creating a welcoming and memorable arrival and check-out experience
• Resolving guest concerns with confidence and ownership ensuring every guest leaves the hotel happy
• Ensuring the security of the hotel throughout the night including regular fire checks
• Providing drinks and room service to resident guests after hours
• Cleaning and preparing public areas of the hotel during the night
• Carrying out general reception duties as required including guest check-in check-out answering the telephone and night audit procedures
• Maintaining health and safety standards and overseeing emergency response and evacuation procedures if required
• Assisting with the preparation and set-up of hotel meetings and event spaces when necessary
• Acting as first responder in the event of a fire alarm
• Recording and reporting any maintenance issues using our Alice App and communicating with other departments
• Completing a thorough handover to the day shift before finishing your duties
• Carrying out other reasonable duties within the scope of the role

What Were Looking For

• You enjoy working at night and thrive in a nighttime role
• Passionate and dedicated to continuously improving the quality of the hotels services
• Fluent in English to ensure you can best welcome and care for our guests
• Knowledge of OnQ Property Management Systems (PMS) is desirable
• A positive attitude and a natural ability to make guests smile
• A great team player who collaborates well with others
