You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Sisters of the Humility of Mary are seeking a mission-driven Shareholder Advocate Associate to help ensure that the congregations investments align with its mission values and Catholic Social Teaching. This role supports the Director of Shareholder Advocacy in advancing responsible corporate behavior through research shareholder engagement coalition building and advocacy for social and environmental justice.

In this role you will work closely with the Director to evaluate the social and environmental impact of the congregations investments. You will assist in implementing shareholder advocacy strategies by participating in corporate dialogues and filing or co-filing shareholder resolutions. Researching the ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) performance of companies in the investment portfolio will be a key part of your responsibilities as will analyze proxy statements and attend annual shareholder meetings.
You will also collaborate with faith-based and interfaith advocacy coalitions such as the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) to promote responsible and ethical business practices. Clear and thoughtful communication of shareholder engagement efforts to the HM Community will be an important part of your work as will contributing to the planning and budgeting process for advocacy initiatives.
We are looking for candidates with a bachelors degree in business finance economics or a related field and at least two years of experience in shareholder advocacy ESG research sustainable investing or a related area. Familiarity with proxy voting and filing shareholder resolutions is preferred. Strong communication and research skills along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects are essential. A deep understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and a commitment to the mission and values of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary are also required. Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings and advocacy events.
