The Role
As a Personal Care Assistant you ll be part of our client s dedicated support team providing essential care in their home. You ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client.
This role is for 40 hours per week working on a 2-week rolling rota. The shift patterns will be discussed during screening.
About the Client & Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a compassionate and respectful male Personal Care Assistant to support a disabled individual with significant care needs. The role involves providing personal care assistance with daily living and support with minor medical tasks. Strong English communication skills are essential.
The responsibilities of this role include:
Supporting with everyday personal care such as assisting with bathing washing dressing and personal hygiene needs.
Mobility assistance including transfers the use of mobility aids and accompanying to appointments and outings.
Administering medications as prescribed and assisting with other minor medical tasks.
Household tasks such as light domestic duties (laundry cleaning) and organising personal belongings.
Engaging in respectful and meaningful conversations offering companionship encouragement and emotional support ensuring dignity and respect are always at the centre of the care you provide.
Requirements
Training & Support
We provide comprehensive paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date covering:
Full induction
Safeguarding Adults
First Aid / Food Hygiene / Health & Safety
Personal Care / Catheter Care
Colostomy - Stoma Care / Gastrostomy Care / Pressure Area Care
Medication / Meds via PEG
Nebuliser / Oral Suction
Moving & Handling with Hoist
Physiotherapy / Sepsis
Communication
All training must be completed prior to start date and is paid at 14.00 per hour.
Who We re Looking For
This position is male-only in accordance with The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1
Excellent communication skills in English are essential
Physically able to undertake moving & handing tasks to ensure our clients safety
Flexibility to cover shifts in times of absence
Experience in a previous care role is preferred but not essential as we provide full comprehensive training
Drivers with a full UK licence are not essential but is desirable
A compassionate reliable and committed individual
