Position Summary

MISSSEY is seeking a highly organized detail-oriented and mission-aligned Grants & Contracts Coordinator to support the management of our public and private funding streams. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that MISSSEY maintains compliance with funder requirements meets important deadlines and upholds our financial and programmatic integrity.

The Grants & Contracts Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Development Finance and Program teams to ensure seamless communication and execution of contract deliverables reporting and data management. This position is ideal for someone who is systems-oriented thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment and finds joy in making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Bring at least 2 years of experience in grants/contracts management or a similar role
  • Be a strong communicator and collaborator across departments

Key Responsibilities

Grant & Contract Management (40%)

  • Track manage and maintain records for all incoming grants and contracts
  • Organize and maintain funder files and documentation for compliance audits and reporting
  • Ensure the timely submission of proposals renewals and required documentation
  • Maintain internal systems that ensure funder deliverables are met on time

Compliance & Reporting (30%)

  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant and contract reports
  • Monitor grant deliverables and allowable expenses in partnership with program and finance staff
  • Ensure spending aligns with funder requirements and budget allocations
  • Stay up to date on evolving compliance needs and proactively communicate changes
  • Attend required contracts and grants meetings training and technical assistance opportunities.

Cross-Team Collaboration (20%)

  • Serve as a bridge between Development Finance and Program teams in regards to grants and contracts development implementation and reporting
  • Gather data outcomes and documentation for reporting and other funder communications
  • Attend internal meetings and track progress toward grant and contract goals

Administrative & Systems Support (10%)

  • Help develop and maintain internal templates calendars and grant tracking tools
  • Assist with data entry analysis and ongoing file management in the funder database
  • Lead internal process improvements related to grants and contracts

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nonprofit grant coordination contracts administration or equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with public funding and foundation grants
  • Strong writing research and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace Excel Salesforce and database tools
  • Commitment to equity youth-centered practices and working in a trauma-informed environment

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Cultural attunement with Black and other communities of color
  • Ability to be dependable accountable and present
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
  • Knowledge of gender-based violence and commercial sexual exploitation
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with participants colleagues and supervisors
  • Ability to assume a leadership role in initiating grants and training support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including professional correspondence and report preparation
  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and consistency in managing administrative tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint) database management and online platforms
  • Ability to track organize and monitor records schedules and timelines
  • Capacity to support compliance with agency policies and procedures through accurate documentation and reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners vendors and community stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • This is an in-person position based in a shared office setting in Oakland
  • May require occasional local travel to meetings or trainings
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods use a computer daily and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $75000 - $85000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Status: Exempt
