You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Orthopedic Technician assists in carrying out routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Physician Physician Assistant or Registered Nurse. The Orthopedic Technician is responsible for general casting splinting bracing DME fitting and application and removal of such as necessary in accordance with standards under the supervision of the physician or physician assistant. Orthopedic Technician may also instruct patient how to walk with crutches cane move with casts and exercises. The Orthopedic Technician will work in both the inpatient and ambulatory setting based on patients admission status as well as other departments outside of Orthopedic individual has the ability to communicate data reflective of the patients status delegated tasks and/ or functions. The technician must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and appropriately interpret information relative to the patients age-specific needs.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Works flexible hours that may include days evenings nights holidays and weekends. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Excellent communication skills required. Basic computer skills required. Medical background and experience as a Medical Assistant or Ortho Tech preferred. Basic Life Support Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Competency.
Tempe Rio building. Occasional float to Phoenix Campus.
