Description
Beef Northwest offers summer internships each year at all feed yard locations. The purpose of the Internship is to teach students the key elements to the successful operation of a feed yard. Ultimately this will help Beef Northwest determine if you are a strong candidate for its Manager in Training Program post-graduation.
Job Duties:
- Two weeks working in the following departments: Cattle Hospital Feed Mill Feeding Maintenance and Management
- You will have specific learning objectives you will need to learn the answers to in each department.
- You will keep a journal every day of your activities and things you learned.
- You will be preparing a SWOT analysis for each department for your final Internship presentation.
- You will be working on one to three projects. Those projects will include scope benefit drawbacks financial analysis and your final recommendation.
- You will visit multiple BNW sites and operations.
- You will visit industry partners.
- You will be exposed to all aspects of the business in one way or another.
- At the end of your Internship you will deliver a presentation of your summer experience and projects to the Executive Leadership team Managers and staff at multiple locations.
Requirements
- Strong desire to work in the Cattle and/or Feed Lot Industry post-graduation.
- Strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to use Excel PowerPoint Word and Gmail.
- Access to a horse and ability to ride for at least two weeks. (In certain cases we may be able to provide you a horse).
- Good sense of humor
- 2.5 GPA or higher
