Job Description Summary

GE Vernovas internships offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience through challenging projects learn from some of the brightest and most innovative minds in the business and network with a variety of talented professionals.
This internship role offers the candidate a rare opportunity to gain industrial experience in product qualification operational planning and execution of repairs on GEs state-of-the-art gas turbine engine components. The candidate will be exposed to industry-leading repair processes technologies and systems.

Job Description

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Operational Execution and Excellence: Collaborate with our operations team to deliver on Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC) priorities. Gain insights into operations management using daily management systems and standard work.
  • New Product/Process Introduction: Partner with our engineers to industrialize new repair processes and establish standard work for operational execution to ensure fulfilment of technical and operational requirements. Gain exposure to repair technology and develop depth of technical knowledge in gas turbine component repair processes.
  • Operations and Process Problem Solving: Collaborate with different functional teams to run observations experiments and analyse data/results to determine root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions. Be expose to the use of quality tools and structured techniques to problem solving.
  • Lean and Continuous Improvement: Identify wastes and drive their reduction/elimination in SQDC. Gain exposure to lean tools and as well as opportunities for hands on kaizen through lean activities and events.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Currently pursuing a Degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Aerospace Material and/or Industrial Engineering

- Competent with MS Office applications

- Being inclusive and having the imagination and courage to make changes

- Possess good communication skills
