The County of Monterey Health Departments Behavioral Health Bureau (MCBH) has openings for multiple full-time Behavioral Health Services Manager IIs (BHSM II). The Bureau currently has vacancies in Access to Treatment/Adult System of Care (ASOC) Children and Youth System of Care (CSOC) and Community Crisis Services.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Behavioral Health Services Manager II works under general direction to plan organize the program and/or provision of services of a major program within the Behavioral Health Bureau. Incumbents in this position supervise the operation of program elements and staff; monitor contract services; supervise staff; act as a liaison to community groups agencies and state representatives; and participate in budget planning preparation and monitoring.
The Behavioral Health Services Manager II overseeing South County Integrated Access to Treatment / Adult System of Care (ASOC) provides programmatic oversight and provision of behavioral health services in the South Monterey County Region which includes the Soledad and King City Behavioral Health clinics. The position is responsible for the planning directing and evaluation of programs including oversight of policies regulations and operational procedures as well as the administration of treatment programs for individuals and the community with the goal of restoring clients to successful functioning within the community. Additionally this position serves as Project Director for the Proposition 47 grant administered by MCBH and the monitoring of contracted services. This is a multi-year grant with a wide array of services and supports provided by community-based organizations and other partners to provide services to system involved community members impacted by Substance Use and/or Mental Health conditions.
The Behavioral Health Services Manager II in the Children and Youth System of Care (CSOC) will oversee the Transition Aged Youth (TAY) Childrens Outpatient (New Paths) and Post Hospital services for Children and TAY countywide. CSOC provides intensive behavioral health services to youth and young adults experiencing serious emotional disturbances early onset psychosis or recent psychiatric hospitalization. The role involves supervising program operations and personnel managing contracts collaborating with internal / external partners and directing budget planning and monitoring to ensure high-quality community-integrated behavioral health services. This BHSM will coordinate care across clinics homes schools and emergency settings working closely with hospitals community crisis services schools and other partners to ensure timely transitions stabilize high-risk youth and support recovery through collaborative family-centered care.
The Behavioral Health Services Manager II for Community Crisis (Mobile Crisis) Services will oversee the provision of 24/7 mobile crisis services throughout Monterey County to include MCBHs internal Mobile Crisis Team and the continued coordination/integration with our external contract provider partners and emergency service personnel to include Emergency Communications Dispatch /Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and our local Community Crisis Line of Monterey County. This BHSM will work closely with internal MCBH teams and community partners local service providers hospitals law enforcement and other first responder partners to maintain collaborative professional relationships troubleshoot high risk situations and ensure quality services and timely access to care. This BHSM will work closely with their Deputy Director in the coordination of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training and other MCBH Specialty Team response efforts.

OR
An equivalent combination of education training and experience that demonstrates the above knowledge and
skills.
