Job Description

Selection for interview is based on evaluation of complete application file. Employment offer is based on employee evaluations discipline history and attendance records training and experience references and interview results. Hourly rate placement contingent upon verification of related WA public school experience.

This position is included in the classified staff non-supervisory bargaining unit. Union shop requirements and the Collective Bargaining Agreement apply to this position.

Employment contingent upon completion and verification of form information and background check with fee to be paid by applicant.

Pay for contracted classified employees is distributed once/month on the last business day of the month. Pay for employees who work less than full year is spread through August. Questions concerning pay processes may be directed to the Personnel Office.

Eligibility for SEBB medical dental vision life insurance AD&D and LTD if anticipated to reach 630 hours in the school year. Eligibility for retirement based on 3.50 hrs/day or more for 5 or more consecutive months. Optional tax-sheltered annuities: Omni 403(b) and Deferred Compensation Plan. Personal leave vacation leave (260-day employees only) and sick leave prorated based on FTE.

Classified Personnel
Job Description: Security Lead (Large Campus)
Responsible to: Building Principals
Work Year: 180 Days/ 8.00 hours per day
General: The Security Leads primary assignment will be to lead and assist the building security team. The Security Lead will monitor assist support and implement the schools discipline policies. The Security Lead will work with parents to address low-level discipline infractions committed by their
students primarily infractions involving parking closed campus and
attendance. Additional duties shall include student supervision during the school day and at various school activities as needed. The Security Lead will work closely with the school administrative team.
Minimum Qualification:

  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual skills desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience working with high school aged students
  • Ability and willingness to work with students from various backgrounds Organizational skills and flexibility to respond to changing student needs Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle student information in a confidential manner
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Valid Washington State Drivers License
  • Ability to obtain valid CPR and First Aid card
  • Position Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily movements of the building security team.
  • Makes first contact with police fire EMS when called to campus.
  • Meets with administration to address security issues and concerns.
  • Oversees student and visitor behavior in parking lot on school grounds and/or building. Visible and proactive approach to school discipline attempting to build positive relationships with students and parents.
  • Enters and addresses low level discipline infractions in the schools data system and makes student contacts.

High School Lead:
Ensures that students using parking lots are registered with school officials. Oversees removal of vehicles parked illegally or without proper authority Enforces closed campus regulations.
Greets visitors entering school grounds and directs them to appropriate school location. Interacts with students and maintains awareness of specific student rules and regulations; discusses problems; observes students for possible illegal substance use or signs of abuse; reports situations requiring action to appropriate school administrator; assists local law enforcement officers on school grounds when appropriate.
Maintains/cleans on-site cameras when able to
Compiles data and prepares necessary reports
Provides backup support to administrators and staff in emergency situations. Performs such other duties as from time to time may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; demonstrated successful experience working with security situations.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret school rules and regulations and/or district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff students other employees and the community. Bilingual skills desirable.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasonability Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff law enforcement and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk and talk and hear. The employee occasionally is required to walk fast or run.
