Reports To: General Manager of Facilities

Qualifications:
Texas Operators License
Have knowledge and ability to perform in supporting irrigation system repair
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to follow instructions (written or oral)
Ability to comprehend English (written and oral)
Primary Purpose:
Help maintain the irrigation systems throughout the district in a manner that allows optimum use and conserves water.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility to make minor repairs to irrigation systems in its entirety.
- Document all repairs using the District software program.
- Recognize when a specialized trade is needed to solve problems.
- Perform irrigation system audits on a regular basis.
- Take all safety precautions related to all trades and report to Maintenance Supervisor any hazardous situations.
- May be required to work occasional overtime and respond to department emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Power tools (drill saw etc.) hand tools shovels specialty tools ladder light truck or van and computer.
Working Conditions:
Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing stooping bending kneeling and reaching. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures dust fumes and odors. Exposure to mechanical electrical and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
