Job Description

Are you passionate about fighting hunger and making a real impact in your community Catholic Charities Maine is seeking a Full-Time Operations Specialist to lead the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) in Aroostook County.

About the Program: Catholic Charities Hunger & Relief Services is proud to partner with the USDA to improve the health of low-income persons of at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. These monthly food packs contain 30 pounds of commodity food items such as dry pasta canned meats and vegetables and cheese.

Definition: This Operations Specialist is responsible for complying with contract regulations to ensure documentation and tracking of set metrics. S/he will help with the coordination and delivery of food on set distribution days across Aroostook County. This position will be the main point of contact for the community partners and pantry distribution sites associated with CSFP as well as address any need and concerns of consumers that utilize the program. Additionally this position will help with warehouse work associated with the food bank including the movement and storing of food recycling efforts thrift store operations and oversights of volunteers at the site. This position will be primarily based in Monticello and will require some travel.

Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience working with people from various backgrounds.
  • Data management and/or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid forklift certification or be willing to obtain certification upon employment. Certification must comply with OSHA standards or relevant local regulations. Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Suites products.
  • Must be able to safely operate non-CDL trucks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to push pull and carry objects. Must be able to lift 80lbs unaided using proper techniques.
  • 40% of the day requires standing or walking on gravel wooden and concrete floors. 60% is office work that can be accomplished by either standing or sitting.

Position is Monday through Friday with two Saturdays a month. On weekends a Saturday is required the following Monday is off.
