Job Summary
The Land Intern will work under the direction and training of a Senior Landman to gain a more in-depth understanding of daily projects associated with Continentals assets. The internship requires knowledge of basic petroleum land management principles and will provide the opportunity for collaboration with office and field employees to enhance land management education.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to a summer project the Land intern will have the opportunity to:
Review lease files and title opinions for ownership determination and curative matters
Prepare well set-ups for submittal to lease records and division order groups
Prepare contractual briefs of exploration agreements unit agreements etc.
Operating Agreement review and preparation
Work with Lease Records Division Orders and Land Systems for basic understanding of Quorum (land database) and SAP (Accounting)
Field title exam training in Courthouse
Negotiating an oil and gas lease
Indoctrination in Emerging Plays
Indoctrination in Acquisitions and Divestitures
Personal commitment to inclusion and diversity
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
Excellent analytical verbal and written communication
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Strong customer focus and a team player
Effective time management
Required Qualifications
Current enrollment in a four (4) year College or University
Working towards a Bachelors degree in Energy Management related degree with Petroleum Land emphasis
Valid drivers license
Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation
An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires prolonged sitting some bending and stooping.
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
