Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Coding Analyst to join our team. The Coding Analyst will be responsible for analyzing reviewing and interpreting complex data and code to ensure accuracy consistency and compliance with established coding standards. This position is ideal for professionals experienced in medical coding data coding or software code review depending on your organizations focus.
Key Responsibilities:
Review analyze and interpret data/code in accordance with organizational policies industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure the accuracy and consistency of coded data and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. billing IT clinical or development) to clarify requirements and resolve coding issues.
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of coding procedures and guidelines.
Conduct audits and quality reviews of coded data or software code.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing best practices.
Stay current with changes in coding standards industry regulations and relevant technologies.
Provide coding support and training to team members as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Health Information Management Information Technology or a related field.
2 years of experience in coding analysis whether in medical data or software environments.
Proficiency with coding systems and standards relevant to your industry (e.g. ICD-10 CPT HCPCS for healthcare; SQL Python Java or related languages for software/data).
Strong analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or distributed team environment.
Certification in relevant coding (e.g. CPC CCS or equivalent) is preferred for medical coding roles.
Hourly Pay Rate:
$35 - $55 per hour (based on experience education and technical expertise).
