About the Survivor Experiences Service

The Department of Internal Affairs Survivor Experiences Service provides a safe supportive and confidential space for Survivors of abuse in care to share their experiences and access personal records. Our work supports healing and acknowledges the importance of every story.

The Role: Team Administrator

As Team Administrator youll play a vital behind-the-scenes role supporting our Survivor-facing teams. Your work will enable our kaimahi to focus fully on each Survivor interaction knowing the logistics and admin are in expert hands.

This is a hands-on varied role suited to someone who is independent organised and confident working with sensitive information in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and organisational support to managers and team members
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation for Private Sessions and Relationships teams
  • Format print collate and distribute high-quality documents
  • Maintain and improve filing systems (electronic and paper-based)
  • Process referrals manage couriering of transcripts and support other Survivor-related activities
  • Use initiative to identify and implement process improvements
  • Be comfortable working in ambiguity and applying common sense to problem-solving

What Youll Bring

  • At least 1 year of experience supporting dynamic teams
  • High levels of initiative discretion and emotional intelligence
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Willingness to work in-office 5 days a week
  • A collaborative mindset and a how can we attitude
