Job Description
Introduction
My client forms part of a group of companies and is currently recruiting for a Financial Manager to work at their office in Sandton. They are looking for a young person with about 5-10 years experience in financial management/analysis/reporting. Must be degreed. Must be able to work under pressure and had exposure to the full financial function.
This position is also quite operational.
The purpose of the job is to provide company financial reporting compliance and support and assist in driving efficiencies and improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key performance areas will include:
- Prepare and complete financial budgets information and reporting. This will include recommending solutions and plans to improve the effectiveness of all functions.
- Manage and control costs to achieve/exceed the budget. Assist in ensuring that company profits reach benchmarked profits
- Monthly ensure that all intercompany costs/billing are done and accounted for.
- Performance reporting to be prepared and presented together with the Operations Director.
- Ensure bank balances are corrected to agreed upon levels through cash control. Monitor release and transfer of payments. Good cash flow management.
- Establish internal controls to deliver efficient processes and systems. Prepare month end flash reports. Prepare and ensure accuracy of balance sheet recons.
- Ensure international and group governance and compliance standards are met at all times.
- Management and development of Human Resources. Together with HR recruit competent staff. Provide training and development to ensure succession. Conduct annual performance appraisals.
Desired Experience & Qualification
5 - 10 years experience as a Financial Manager.
Must have a BCom Accounting degree from a reputable university
