Position Summary
The Marketing & Business Development Capture Manager is responsible for identifying developing and securing new business opportunities aligned with the companys strategic growth goals. This individual leads opportunity capture from initial prospecting through proposal submission driving integrated strategies that enhance market positioning and win probability. The Capture Manager works cross-functionally to shape solutions proposals and partnerships that deliver value to both the customer and the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-lifecycle capture efforts including customer engagement competitive positioning and solution development.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across federal commercial and international markets.
- Research market trends customer needs and competitive intelligence to inform targeting and pursuit strategies.
- Coordinate and lead business development efforts in collaboration with engineering operations contracts and finance.
- Prepare and deliver marketing materials customer briefings and capabilities presentations.
- Attend industry events conferences and customer meetings to build brand recognition and customer relationships.
- Translate customer needs into actionable business opportunities and ensure smooth handoff to project execution teams post-award.
- Track metrics related to business development performance pipeline growth and win rates.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or capture management within aerospace defense or technology sectors.
- Demonstrated success in winning proposals and capturing contracts valued at $5M or higher.
- Deep understanding of federal procurement processes (FAR DFARS) and/or commercial acquisition models.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication strategic thinking and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with NASA DoD or prime aerospace contractors.
- Familiarity with capture/proposal methodologies (e.g. Shipley).
- Technical acumen in systems engineering ECLSS avionics or spaceflight hardware.
- APMP or PMP certification.
