Job Description

Quality Staffing Inc. also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the areas top companies is looking for an experienced Permit Specialistto work through our agency as a contract employeewith the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TN DOT) located in Nashville TN. This is an on-site position working from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.The pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.

Permit Specialist Job Description:
The Permit Specialist will work with a small diverse team which is responsible for administering permits for over-dimensional and overweight tractor trailers. These movements require special assistance and directions to move safely throughout the state.

Duties and Responsibilities as a Permit Specialist will include:
  • Work with transportation professionals across the country.
  • Provide customer service to commercial carriers.
  • Review oversize and overweight permits for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review oversize and overweight permits for routes and restrictions to ensure safe travel throughout the state.
  • Review oversize and overweight permits to ensure compliance with current rules and laws.

Education and Experience Qualifications Needed for Permit Specialist position:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree or graduation from an accredited college with an associates degree and two (2) years of increasingly responsible motor carrier registration permitted related responsibilities or analytical experience related to determining compliance with state and federal rules regulations or related standards OR
  • Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and four (4) years of increasingly responsible motor carrier registration permit related responsibilities or analytical experience related to determining compliance with state and federal rules regulations or related standards.
