Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the culinary team at a renowned luxury wine estate located in Stellenbosch. This is an excellent opportunity for an up-and-coming chef with a passion for fine cuisine and a desire to grow within a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare all food items in accordance with recipes and quality standards
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
Conduct daily checks of mise-en-place to ensure freshness and quality
Maintain proper stock rotation to ensure minimal wastage
Demonstrate knowledge of menu items daily features and promotions
Keep all work areas equipment and utensils clean and well maintained
Follow kitchen procedures and adhere to service standards
Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
Requirements:
Culinary diploma or relevant certificate
1 2 years previous experience in a 5-star restaurant or similar fine dining environment preferred
Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
High attention to detail and a passion for quality
Self-motivated and disciplined with a positive work ethic
Ability to perform well under pressure
Flexible reliable and accountable
