Operations Manager Private Game Reserve Hluhluwe
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a skilled and dynamic Operations Manager to join a prestigious private game reserve in Hluhluwe. This live-in role requires a hospitality professional with proven leadership ability excellent organisational skills and a strong passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Live-in position
Key Responsibilities:
Personally meet and greet all guests upon arrival
Host agents media representatives and group visits
Ensure daily guest delights are delivered consistently
Host guest evenings as required by business levels
Oversee all lodge operations when the Lodge Manager is on leave
Plan weekly operations including training schedules guest requirements and staffing levels
Conduct regular room checks and ensure housekeeping standards are met
Oversee kitchen operations and ensure all departments adhere to minimum standards as per BOPs
Participate in departmental and finance meetings
Ensure staff welfare training and positive health standards are maintained
Oversee stock takes and manage departmental budgets
Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and ensure all reporting departments meet review deadlines
Attend monthly Health and Safety meetings and implement necessary adjustments in departments
Manage staff timesheets ensuring any overtime is balanced with under-time where possible
Promote effective teamwork and collaboration between departments
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a five-star operation
Managerial training or certification advantageous
Strong understanding of lodge operations and company procedures
Valid unendorsed South African driver s licence
Excellent communication skills with both guests and staff
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
High levels of integrity professionalism and initiative
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet guest needs
Good interpersonal skills and a passion for guest delight
Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
Previous Experience:
Proven background in the service industry with a focus on guest and staff management
Prior experience as a Camp or Lodge Manager
Previous experience working with children is advantageous
Additional Information:
This is a permanent live-in position.
Transport to and from leave cycles is the successful candidate s responsibility.
