Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Coding Specialist to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for emergency room encounters - No Injections and Infusions or E/M - Mostly diagnosis coding and procedures. This remote role is ideal for coders who excel in independent work environments and are motivated by performance-based compensation. Coders will be expected to maintain high productivity and quality standards while navigating complex documentation across multiple specialties.

Requirements

  • Certification: Active AHIMA or AAPC Certification (CPC CCS RHIT or RHIA) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of emergency department coding experience
  • Technology: Proficiency with EPIC and 3M 360 platforms.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with ED workflows documentation styles and coding nuance
  • Skills: High attention to detail analytical thinking and excellent communication. Proven ability to meet high-volume productivity goals. Experience with remote coding systems and per-chart compensation models
  • Work Environment: Remote work with flexible scheduling options.
