The Intake Manager role is pivotal in overseeing the referral/intake process for designated Home Health care centers. The intake manager will lead remote intake staff manage day-to-day operations of a remote intake team while actively participating in the intake processes.
This will be a remote position and may include occasional travel to Empath offices
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to intake coordinators in managing day-to-day operations ensuring a safe and timely transition of patients to home care services.
- Assist in the coordination of home care services for complex cases facilitating timely problem resolution as needed.
- Serve as a liaison for swift communication between referral sources care center staff and Business Development.
- Act as a liaison with Verification/Authorization to ensure clear processes on payor contracts and timely and accurate authorizations.
- Educate intake department regarding processes for intake.
- Manage monitor and audit referral/intake processes to ensure timeliness accuracy procedural compliance and entry of referrals for clinical operations review and approval.
- Identify develop and implement strategies and actions to improve intake staff performance.
- Implement and manage documentation and reporting systems for all referral sources.
- Maintain an appropriate staffing level monitor productivity of intake staff manage overtime and adhere to the operating budget for the team. Manage monthly schedules for team members.
- Maintain physician additions and changes for the assigned territory in EMR.
- Assist the region in meeting intake goals.
- Ensure compliance with policies procedures and regulatory mandates including abiding by the terms of the
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance. Hold employees accountable for defined goals and objectives. Provide coaching mentoring and training opportunities.
Position Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed with the State of Florida; preferred.
- 1-3 years proven experience in Home Health Hospice or another medical field.
- 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook Word and Excel.
- Reliable internet service and the ability to work from home with minimal disruption to the workday.
- Prior Home Care Home Base experience is strongly preferred.
- Forcura experience is strongly preferred.
