Job Summary:
We are seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide occupational health services on an intermittent basis covering for staff absences in our Occupational Health Clinic. This role focuses on supporting the wellness safety and medical needs of city employees with duties spanning from injury triage to physical exams and regulatory testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide primary urgent and occupational health care to adult employees including diagnosis treatment and follow-up care
Conduct health evaluations post-offer/pre-placement physical exams and CDL medical certifications
Perform in-person and telephone triage of injured employees determining appropriate care and facilitating referrals as needed
Collaborate closely with the City s Physical Therapy Workers Compensation team and other relevant internal departments
Conduct OSHA-compliant evaluations and testing including:
Hearing conservation assessments (CAOHC standards)
Pulmonary clearance and respirator fit testing
Support for asbestos monitoring protocols
Prescribe medications order diagnostic tests and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
Assist in developing or reviewing occupational health policies and procedures alongside safety engineers ergonomics and industrial hygiene personnel
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing or Physician Assistant program
Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Colorado
Board Certification from AANPCB ANCC or NCCPA (as applicable)
State and Federal DEA certification to prescribe Schedule II V controlled substances
Registered with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME)
Current BLS certification
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in urgent care emergency care or occupational health specifically treating adult patients
Experience handling occupational injuries is highly valued

This is a non-benefited intermittent position. Candidates must be flexible and capable of stepping into coverage roles with short notice. The ideal applicant will be experienced in both clinical treatment and occupational safety protocols with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Must be enrolled on the Judicial Council Master List as a credentialed ASL Court Interpreter. Must have sufficient training, education, and experience to perform interpretation duties successfully. Must adhere to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Must maintain certification or registration, including completing required continuing education at the contractor s expense.
