Job Description

LEAD THE MEDIA RELATIONS TEAM

Establish develop and lead the Media Relations teamlaying the foundation for its success over the next three years and beyond. Foster strong collaboration between the team and communication leads in Santa Monica as well as in each of the five regions.

Lead motivate and coach the team on creating and maintaining media relationships while crafting compelling narratives that achieve high impact earned media results with clear brand attribution.

Develop and implement strategic innovative earned media pitches for products projects and programs while providing ongoing guidance to the wider communications community.

Serve as the in-house chief editor identifying which stories from WROBglobally nationally or regionallybest align with specific traditional and social media outlets.

Actively share knowledge resources and expertise with the communications team regional networks and RBMN leadership to encourage collaboration and growth.

Stay up to date on news and public relations trends within the industry bringing key developments to the attention of marketing and media colleagues as appropriate and spearheading educational initiatives for the groups growth.

Manage and oversee financial operations for the team including budget allocation and governance supplier invoicing and purchase orders. Ensure adherence to compliance standards such as time entry and utilization tracking.

DEFINE AND EXECUTE THE MEDIA RELATIONS STRATEGY

Define and develop the national media relations strategy for RBMN.

Enhance awareness and drive relevance in MMM through earned media outcomes.

Promote brand recognition and integration across all RBMNs earned media efforts.

Engage U.S. audiences with distinctive and innovative media content in the earned media space standing out in one of the worlds most competitive and influential media markets.

Identify create and lead new story angles or unique perspectives for RBMNs existing projects while also establishing recurring content opportunities.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL AND OVERSIGHT

Identify the greatest opportunities within our marketing plansglobally nationally and regionallythat will drive the most significant impact for RBNA with U.S. media outlets.

Define our strategy for addressing conflicting priorities involving the same media outlets or contacts ensuring decisions align with what is best for the long-term success of the RBNA business and brand.

Serve as the primary point of contact for national and regional communications teams across RBNA and efficiently allocate resources to support the media relations teams bandwidth.

BUILD NEW REALTIONSHIPS AND STRENGHTEN EXISTING ONES

Develop and nurture relationships with key partners across RBNA Media Network (MN) for communications by consistently identifying new platforms and opportunities to bring fresh connections into the World of Red Bull. This includes engaging with podcasts influential personalities emerging social-first outlets and similar channels.

Strengthen relationships with key media contacts nationwide through proactive management. Serve as the conductor in coordinating all pitching efforts ensuring the delivery of the right story at the right time to the appropriate media targets.

Establish best practices for earned media processes and pitching ensuring alignment with HQ directives while drawing inspiration from other markets within the World of Red Bull (WORB).

Organize regular media functions and host media representatives at events projects and Red Bull programs. These efforts aim to enhance their knowledge and understanding of our brand products and initiatives.


Qualifications :

10 years of experience in communications with a minimum of three years in a team leadership role.
Executive-level expertise in media strategy including a strong understanding of audience growth drivers media trends and consumer impact.
Must possess an unparalleled network of media contacts. Extensive and direct experience working with traditional media (e.g. Univision Washington Post Yahoo Sports CNN) as well as earned social media (e.g. SportsCenters social team Red Cup News) across the North American media market.
Red Bull brand experience and knowledge are an advantage


Additional Information :

This position is open to U.S. citizens U.S. permanent residents or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $115200 - 172800 cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
