We re seeking a dedicated HR Assistant to join our client s mission-driven team and play a pivotal role in supporting their workforce operations. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable experience in Australian HR practices while working with a company that truly values its employees and maintains the highest standards of compliance and professional development. You ll be working directly with leadership in a supportive environment where your contributions will have immediate impact on team operations and employee satisfaction.
Assist with recruitment processes
Assist with onboarding new employees
Update and maintain employee contracts
Save employees documents qualifications certificates in their file
Monitor employee qualifications and licenses ensuring they remain current and valid
Reach out to employees when qualifications or licenses are about to expire or have already expired
Distribute and manage half-yearly and annual review forms to staff
Assist with salary calculations for performance reviews and pay adjustments
Stay updated on changes in HR laws and regulations
Create new employees file using Xero payroll system generate payslips
Conduct payment reconciliation using Xero payroll system matching payments received to invoices sent
Potentially assist with accounts payable and receivable (as needed)
Communicate with team members through Slack for internal coordination
Experience with HR administrative tasks and employee record management
Strong attention to detail for tracking licenses and qualifications
Ability to perform basic salary calculations and review processes
Familiarity with Australian employment laws and regulations (preferred)
Excellent communication skills for employee outreach
Proficiency with digital communication tools like Slack
NDIS experience is a bonus but not required
