Job Description

Our client is a leading boutique interior design firm that specializes in high-end commercial and hospitality projects for leading global clients. They are committed to delivering exceptional design and execution that transforms spaces and elevates brands. They are looking to hire a strategic Head of Operations in Lagos to join their leadership team and ensure their business runs like a well-curated space.

Role Overview
The Head of Operations will oversee all operational aspects of the firm ensuring smooth execution of design projects from concept to completion. This role requires a detail-oriented proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment and can bridge the gap between creative vision and operational excellence. You will be responsible for streamlining processes managing resources and implementing systems that
support growth profitability and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations across design procurement and project execution functions.
  • Develop and maintain operational systems policies and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure all projects meet budget timeline and quality targets.
  • Monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
  • Obtain all necessary permits licenses and bid documentation.
Team & Resource Management
  • Optimize resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Foster a collaborative culture between the operations teams.
  • Propose and implement a plan to ensure that wastage/errors on projects remain within the <5% margin of total project cost.
Financial Oversight
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting forecasting and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor project costs vendor payments and cash flow.
  • Identify cost-saving measures without compromising design integrity.
Vendor & Client Coordination
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure contracts agreements and compliance documents are current and accurate.
  • Support client communication for operational matters ensuring a premium service experience.
Strategic Growth
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement service expansion and operational innovation.
  • Lead technology adoption for project management procurement tracking and client communications.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and firm-wide goal setting.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of operations leadership experience mandatorily in a creative servicesarchitecture or design firm
  • Strong understanding of project management financial oversight and vendor negotiations.
  • Master s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • PMP / PRINCE2 and other international project management certifications is a plus
  • Experience in management from conception to delivery
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts schedules and step-by-step action plans
  • Good knowledge of statutory and safety regulations/requirements.
  • Strong project planning organizing supervising controlling and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Suite MS Office and Project Management applications.
