Job Description

Operations Manager

Location: Mandeville LA
Work Model: On-site 85% Office 15% Field
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the day-to-day operations of ongoing Heavy Highway Construction projects and crews. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are delivered on time within budget and in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction management strong leadership skills and the ability to train and mentor teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage multiple Heavy Highway construction projects and crews.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines budgets contract documents and quality standards.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews and analysis of project and contract documents to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish strategies and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Work closely with the safety team to plan and enforce safety programs on all projects.
  • Support project managers in project arrangement scheduling and reporting.
  • Communicate project needs between project managers and senior management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors and external partners.
  • Mentor and train employees in project management and estimating practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management (Masters degree is a plus).
  • Minimum 15 years of construction experience including at least 10 years in project management (field experience preferred).
  • Heavy Highway construction background is required.
  • Demonstrated stable work history.
  • Strong leadership organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
  • Comfortable with dogs in the office environment.
