The school incorporates Dr. Kings commitment to the highest standards in scholarship civic participation and the ideal of the beloved :Paraprofessionals will assist teachers in providing an innovative high quality education program designed to meet the needs of the children at MLKCSEParaprofessionals will work with school staff to create an educational environment in which quality and continuity are key factors in educating the students of MLKCSESupports instruction by working with individual student in classroom setting to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacherProvides assistance with classroom activitiesSupports student with transitionsManages individual student behavior using research-based best approachesHelps students master equipment and/or instructional materials assigned by the teacherAssists in the implementation of behavioral modification programs as directed and supervised by the and maintains data (daily and weekly)Assists with the supervision of student during emergency drills assemblies play periods and field tripsPerforms other related duties as requested by PrincipalQualifications:High School Diploma GED or higher RequiredWorkkeys or equivalent certification or able to obtain within 1 year after hire Required1 year minimum training or experience working with special needs students RequiredExperience working in an urban setting preferredExperience working with diverse student populations preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent teamwork skillsSalary: $20-$25 per hourSalary commensurate with experience and community and students are diverse and we are committed to reflecting that diversity in our staff.
