Job Description

A leading insurance company is in the market for an Underwriter to join their team.
Salary:
  • Negotiable
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates facultative reinsurance submissions assessing risk exposure policy terms conditions and financial stability of cedants.
  • Conducts risk assessments including exposure analysis loss history and market trends to determine appropriate pricing and terms.
  • Monitors and manages a diversified facultative reinsurance portfolio ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and profitability targets.
  • Negotiates terms and conditions for facultative placements ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal underwriting standards.
  • Prepares underwriting reports and presents findings to Senior Management.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with brokers cedants and internal stakeholders.
  • Assists in facultative claims analysis recovery processes and other exercises when required.
Key Skills:
  • At least 3 years experience in reinsurance or insurance underwriting with expertise in short-term covers.
  • Good analytical thinking with sound decision-making abilities.
  • Strong negotiation communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Risk and Insurance Management
  • Diploma in ACII /AIISA/AIIZ
