Job Purpose
- To support the Team Manager in leading and managing a Family Support Team focused on child protection and court work. The Deputy Team Manager will ensure high-quality service delivery safeguarding children and young people and promoting their welfare in line with statutory responsibilities and best practice.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Assist the Team Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team.
- Supervise and support social workers and other staff in complex child protection and court cases.
- Ensure timely and effective assessments interventions and care planning.
- Monitor performance and quality assurance ensuring compliance with legislation policies and procedures.
- Attend and contribute to strategy meetings case conferences and court proceedings.
- Provide reflective supervision and promote continuous professional development.
- Support the implementation of service improvements and practice development.
Essential Experience Required
- Significant post-qualification experience in children s social care particularly in child protection and court work.
- Proven experience of supervising or mentoring staff.
- Strong understanding of statutory frameworks including the Children Act Working Together to Safeguard Children and Public Law Outline (PLO).
Essential Qualification Required
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.

- Working hours: 37 hours per week
