About the Role:

Were looking for a US Indirect Tax Manager whos not just technically strong in multi-state indirect tax compliance but also excited about driving strategic change. Youll manage a wide spectrum of U.S. indirect tax responsibilities while playing a key role in shaping our global Indirect tax framework. You will be pivotal in how we support new products and jurisdictions optimize tax positions and respond to evolving tax and regulatory risks.

You will report to the Senior Tax Manager and this role will require 3 days a week in our Seattle Washington office.

You Will:

  • Manage U.S. sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support on worldwide indirect tax topics in collaboration with International teams.
  • Lead tax research and documentation for new product launches across the US.
  • Maintain oversight of jurisdictional tax notices and audits partnering with external advisors.
  • Monitor State and federal legislation conduct horizon scanning and advise on strategic impacts including Washington B&O and Seattle payroll taxes.
  • Be an embedded tax partner to Finance Legal and Product teams to assess taxability of new products or business expansions to ensure accurate Indirect tax reporting and compliance mitigating tax risks in cross-border transactions.
  • Help with tax planning to drive holistic global tax efficiency.
  • Identify and lead projects to automate tax processes driving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Help build global indirect tax knowledge base and risk-tracking process.
  • Lead authentically mentoring others and contributing to a culture of trust and excellence.

You Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Tax Accounting or Finance. A Masters degree in Tax or a related field and/or a US CPA license (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • 6 years of U.S. indirect tax experience in a tech-enabled or high-volume digital environment.
  • Command of multi-state sales/use tax especially nexus determination sourcing rules and exemption processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to enable distilling complex tax concepts for non-tax stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Ability to balance compliance ownership with strategic vision.
  • Exposure to global VAT/GST regimes or desire to grow into a WW indirect tax role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and tax technology proficiency: Excel and Alteryx expertise is required while familiarity with Netsuite Jira Confluence and practical AI application is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Washington B&O tax and Seattles local tax regime is preferred.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $116000-$130500. In the U.S. Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
