About the Role
Shodair Childrens Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support and guide nursing staff in providing safe trauma-informed high-quality care. Working closely with the Nurse Manager this role serves as a leadership presence on the unitmentoring staff ensuring compliance and stepping in to provide direct care when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily nursing operations staffing and unit flow.
- Provide real-time coaching mentoring and clinical supervision to staff.
- Lead de-escalation efforts and respond to crises.
- Ensure documentation compliance and quality standards are met.
- Assist with onboarding and training new hires.
- Act as unit leader in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
- Provide direct patient care when required.

- Schedules available: Day shift and Night shift available. Some weekends required.
Qualifications
- RN with current Montana or Compact state license (BSN preferred).
- CPR required; CPI APS certification within 2 months of hire.
- At least 2 years experience with children/adolescents in a mental health setting preferred.
- Leadership team lead or charge nurse experience preferred.
- Strong communication organizational and crisis management skills.
